Apoio a Timor-Leste: ajuda às Vítimas das cheias!

O fim de semana de Páscoa de 2021 ficou marcado pela tragédia que inundou Timor-Leste.

Chuvas torrenciais inundaram o país e desabaram vidas, casas, vilas e cidades, deixando um rastro de destruição e de sofrimento, na capital, Díli, e em muitas zonas do país.

Até ao momento, há a lamentar a perda de 34 vidas, mas há ainda muitos desaparecidos. Milhares de pessoas ficaram sem casa e precisam urgentemente de comida e de outros bens essenciais.

Os timorenses, conhecidos pelo seu carácter lutador e resistente, arregaçaram as mangas e estão nas ruas, a lutar pela sobrevivência. Mas precisam da nossa ajuda!

Neste momento, para além do apoio de organizações internacionais e nacionais, grupos pequenos de voluntários locais, portugueses e de outras nacionalidades, que vivem em Timor-Leste, organizaram-se de modo a que a ajuda chegue o mais rapidamente a várias famílias.

Este Go Fund Me é direcionado para um dos pequenos grupos de voluntários, que, através de montantes mais reduzidos, conseguem gerir, comprar e entregar água e comida a pessoas em situação de carência material, bem como produtos de higiene e roupa para crianças e cidadãos seniores, e materiais para a reconstrução de casas.

Num momento em que o país atravessa um período difícil de combate à pandemia causada pela Covid-19, com o aumento diário de casos de pessoas infetadas, esta catástrofe veio dificultar os esforços de prevenção e combate à pandemia. É, por isso, urgente que as pessoas possam voltar às suas casas e retomar alguma  normalidade, para que esses esforços não sejam em vão.

Todos os grupos de apoio são essenciais e complementam-se, porque ninguém consegue chegar a todo o lado. Quantos mais formos, mais pessoas conseguiremos ajudar!

A equipa responsável por este Go Fund Me assumirá integralmente os custos associados à transferência de verbas para Timor-Leste, e compromete-se a divulgar regularmente informação sobre o dinheiro recolhido e as atividades realizadas.

The Easter weekend of 2021 was marked by a tragedy that flooded Timor-Leste.

Torrential rains flooded the country and collapsed lives, houses, towns and cities, leaving a trail of destruction and suffering in the capital, Dili, and in many areas of the country.

So far, the loss of 34 lives is to be regretted, but there are still many people missing. Thousands of Timorese have been left homeless and are in urgent need of food and other essential goods.

The Timorese, known for their fighting and resilient character, rolled up their sleeves and are on the streets, fighting for survival. But they need our help!

At present, in addition to the support of international and national organizations, small groups of local volunteers, of Portuguese and other nationalities, who live in Timor-Leste, have organized themselves so that aid reaches as quickly as possible to several families.

This Go Fund Me is aimed at one of the small groups of volunteers, who, through smaller amounts, manage, buy and deliver water and food to people in need, as well as hygiene products and clothes for children and citizens seniors, and materials for home reconstruction.

At a time when the country is going through a difficult period to combat the pandemic caused by Covid-19, with the daily increase in cases of infected people, this catastrophe has made efforts to prevent and combat the pandemic more difficult. It is, therefore, urgent that people can return to their homes and resume some normality, so that these efforts are not in vain.

All support groups are essential and complement each other, because no one can reach everywhere. The more we are, the more people we can help!

The team responsible for this Go Fund Me will fully assume the costs associated with the transfer of funds to Timor-Leste, and undertakes to regularly disclose information about the money collected and the activities carried out.
